This article discusses the use of cutting edge Blockchain technology for the purpose of protecting national security of state entities in context of modern hybrid, informational or cyber warfare. Blockchain started as the technology behind bitcoin but has popularly grown into a promising technology for cybersecurity. This fact suggests that blockchains may be a key factor of cyberdefence in the future. The first part of work is briefly describing the history and development of blockchain distributed, decentralised databases and it’s most intersting use cases. It also describes the operation of this technology based on the most widely used cryptographic protocol. The second part of the thesis deals with the analysis of the vulnarabilities and strenght of using this technology and how can it be eventually resistant to hacker attacks. The last part of the study provides answers to the questions of how Blockchain technology can be used by nation-state governments and their armed forces to protect national security in the context of maintaining security in cyberspace, data trasmision protection, effective and reliable communication and management supply chain for the military. |
