Rezumat

After the annexation of the territory between the Prut and Dniester to the Russian Empire, under the Treaty of Peace of Bucharest from 16/28 May 1812, the nobility of the province, who managed to demonstrate its nobility, benefited eq-ually from the rights and privileges that enjoyed Russian nobility and from old Mol-dovan privileges. But the economic processes taking place in the first half of the nineteenth century in the Russian Empire, determined by the penetration and spre-ad of capitalist relations generated increasing pressure on the backward system of socio-political arrangement, which would reverberate, in the end, on the privileges of the ruling class. Boldness and stubbornness with which the Bessarabian nobility struggled to maintain its privileges on the production and trade of spirit drinks in the 1840s -1850s make us believe that the phenomenon, which in essence reflects the reacti-onarism of this social class against the law-like course of development of capitalist relations, has resulted in a movement of protest against the liquidation of the auto-nomy of Bessarabia and its particularities with regard to rules of law.
