Rezumat

The article reveals the possible applicability of media discourse materials in teaching foreign language to students of foreign economic professions. Media environment management and media competence development are analysed. The importance of media education through building up analytical and media-discursive comptences is supported by current pedagogical approaches in the field of media education. The educational, ideological and methodological aspect of the organization of the educational process in teaching a foreign language is presented. Types of professional activities and competences of customs specialists are given. The importance of including media analysis courses in the training programs is indicated. Correlation of media competences with other competences is identified. Applied vectors of teaching foreign languages are indicated. Typical tasks are listed and advantages of using media resources in project activities and blending learning are analyzed. The standards of education in the field of translation, program material and didactic content on media literacy are analyzed. In conclusion, the necessity of media education and the interrelation of media and professional competences are emphasised.
