Complex phonetic and phonological structures are a phenomenon that makes it possible to characterize the units of the phonetic and phonological system (speech sounds and language phonemes) of a particular language not only in terms of articulation (vowels and consonants), but also in terms of structure: simple and complex. In a particular language, it is possible to notice the presence of three types of complex phonetic and phonological structures: phonetic and phonological (having the full status of complex monophonemic units), purely phonetic and purely phonological and, for this reason, conditional. In this regard, the article deals with complex phonetic and phonological structures in English, German and French. |
