Introduction. The stress is the adaptation syndrome that the individual develops after the environmental aggressions; an assembly that comprises strain, tension, coercion, force, solicitation. Health maintenance requires a good capacity to cope with stress. Objective of the study. To highlight the most common symptoms caused by occupational stress, found in medical workers. Material and methods. The study was conducted on a sample of 61 persons, represented by the workers of the Municipal Center for Public Health from Chisinau and the National Center for Public Health. There was applied a closed type and anonymous questionnaire. Results. The applied questionnaire included several groups of symptoms. The intellectual symptoms caused by stress which specified the medical workers were referred to the fact of taking hard decisions (27.9%), to be often distracted (26.2%), to be concentrated on a single issue (24.6%). From the behavioral symptoms caused by stress more frequently the respondents highlighted the chronic lack of time (42.6%) and less time to communicate with family and friends (26.2%). A share of 21.3% of respondents felt restlessness and increased anxiety, which refers to emotional symptoms. From the physiological symptoms more frequently the medical workers felt fatigue (42.6%), had problems of the circulatory system (27.9%) and headache or pain in different body parts of indeterminate nature (26.2%). Conclusions. A large number of medical workers are influenced by occupational stress, which entails adverse health consequences. |
