The contradictions concerning the origins of Romanian last longer. The traditional (and official) theory proposed by Transylvanian School argues that the Romanian language has its origin in popular Latin. Latin words constitute the lexical ”strat” of the language, the few geto-dacian terms form the “substrat” and the foreign influences – the “adstrat”. During the last period has appeared a new tendency – the Dacology, that promotes the hypothesis that “The Romanian people is the continuer of the Dacians”, that “the Romanian people doesn’t come from the Romans, but on the contrary, some Romans comes from the Dacians”. |
