The article considers some Moldovan influences on the evolution of the Gagauzian tradition of bread production. The Moldovans and the Gagauzes have the same technologies of bread production, as well as traditions of ritual use of bread. Getting in contact with the Moldovans, the Gagauzes borrowed from them some new types of bread products (malay, çatlak malay, tepsidä malay, mamaliga, сızlı mamaliga, candra/jandra, plaçınta, turta, gogoloş / gogoş / gogoneli). A significant amount of these borrowings are in the group of ritual bread, especially of bread used in the process of commemoration: merdiven kolacı (textually: kalach in the form of ladder), köprü kolacı (textually: bridge kalach), vama kolacı (textually: customs kalach), kapite and some others. |
