In the present article we suggest a typology of neologisms in the Romanian language. They are classified according to their purpose, to the linguistic units they are incorporated in, to the method they are formed by, to the area they are used in, to their forms and spelling etc. A large variety of typologies can be observed both in Romanian and general linguistics, given in the specialized sources. However, it is difficult to propose a generalized/ exhaustive typology considering the multiple interpretations of the concept of neologism itself. |
