Ecotourism as the social phenomenon that contributes to the sustainable development is, at this stage, a scientific-practical concern in the majority of the countries. The modest geographic size of urban areas in the Republic of Moldova cannot succeed at the development of the mass tourism. Ecotourism is actually an excellent opportunity for the development of the country regions that have necessary resources and conditions for their recovery, the only alternative to integrate natural landscapes and ecological biodiversity in the international tourist attraction. Ecotourism is the form of tourism that is responsible and respectful regarding the environment, local culture and traditions generating the economic welfare of the local population. Thus, we can say that there exist a great number of prospects and chances to promote ecotourism in the Republic of Moldova. The identification of some strategic directions of the ecotourism development in our country make us study the international experience concerning policies and instruments to support and develop the given area. |
