Rezumat | |
Spirulina platensis PSS has been established to activate catabolic processes in normal physiological conditions due to the reduction of the serum protein level and a significant decrease in the level of serum glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and nucleotide-like substances. A statistically significant reduction in the total antioxidant activity values (AAT) of the polar compound and their decrease for the nonpolar component are observed. PSS has a hypocholesterolemic effect in the rats with induced aseptic inflammation. The NO level reaches the control values; the ceruloplasmin level and the antioxidant activity of the polar components and carnosine increase. This modulation of the antioxidant system activity is significant to inhibit inflammation development. |
