This article tackles the concept of inclusive education. It is underlined the fact that inclusive education reflects the values of a just and democratic society that offers all people equal opportunities to enjoy human rights. It is also emphasized that inclusive education is an educational process that responds to the diversity of children, offering them equal opportunities and chances to benefit from the fundamental human rights to quality education in common learning environments. The social, pedagogical and psychological foundations on which inclusive education is based are highlighted. The Inclusion Index document, presented in the article, stipulates that there are three important dimensions that are intertwined in the implementation of educational inclusion in the educational institution: cultures, policies and inclusive practices.
