The concept of sustainable development means all forms and methods of socio-economic development that focus primarily on ensuring a balance between social, economic and environmental aspects and elements of natural capital. The assessment of environmental innovations allows us to monitor the potential for reducing the negative environmental impact of economic activities at low costs and to evaluate the effectiveness of environmental innovation policy. Environmental innovations can lead to new business and markets and accelerate the transition to green economy. Efforts to green the scaled system should be accompanied by the gradual abolition of government support measures for environmentally damaging products or activities. Ensuring the promotion of organic farming by implementing green economy principles and expanding the area of agricultural land used for organic farming with about 20% by 2020, must be sustained given that demand for such products on international markets is on the rise, where higher prices for organic products are most often obtained. Promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth can insure full and productive employment and decent work for all. Climate change and negative externalities of intensive economic activities have highlighted the need for a transition to a new economic model based on low greenhouse gas emissions, increased use of renewable energy sources and increased energy efficiency. The results obtained allow to assess the factors and consequences that degrade resources and the living environment. The directions of the implementation of the state policy for the improvement of the ecological status were highlighted. |
