The present article is devoted to the modern literature processes in former Soviet republics, especially to the current trends in poetry translation. The author critically estimates the idea of forming the bank of interlinear (literal) translations to make them available for readers and researchers. In her opinion, this could lead to reducing translation level and changing the source text meaning. The author also shows numerous risks which could appear in this project. The author proves her idea giving examples from her personal translation experience.
