The article presents the results of research aimed at the creation of high-tech tomato varieties and hybrids F 1 that meet the modern requirements of producers and consumers. The efficiency of using complementary methods with the principle of step-by-step alternation of sporophyte-gametophyte selections on the background of high temperature, with simultaneous consideration of morphobiological and economically valuable traits is shown. This allows accelerating the breeding process, identifying promising lines and creating new varieties and heterotic hybrids F 1 differing in the type of plant growth, shape, size, colour of fruits in combination with resistance to heat and drought. A brief characteristic of new varieties and hybrids of tomato intended for cultivation in large industrial conditions and on small farms and homestead plots of open and protected ground in the Republic of Moldova is given.
