Democratizarea integrală a societății contemporane a condus la formarea rețelelor largi de organizare social-politică, antrenate în viața socială și politică a societății. Activitatea sa este reglementata de norme juridice, care presupun realizarea mai multor funcții. O astfel de organizație este partidul politic. Principiul fundamental care determină statutul juridic al partidului politic în statul democratic este principiul egalității în drepturi: toate partidele politice au drepturi și obligații egale. Datorită acestui principiu, partidele politice oferă posibilități largi tuturor participanților la scrutinul electoral, inclusiv candidaților independenți, de a participa la guvernarea statului. Ca instituție de socializare politică, partidul politic are o contribuție efectivă și eficientă la formarea culturii politice democratice, pluraliste, participative prin mijlocirea drepturilor și obligațiilor prevăzute de Constituția statului. Partidele politice prezintă una dintre cele mai importante forțe politice indispensabile epocii contemporane și este un grup organizat de oameni uniți prin comunitatea lor de interese, concepte politice, ideologice care acționează în conformitate cu statutul și programul propus, vizând participarea la instituțiile reprezentative ale puterii de stat, caracterizate prin trăsături principale: a) o organizare durabilă; b) o structură locală care furnizează rapoarte periodice cu responsabilități naționale; c) voința deliberata de preluare si realizare a puterii, chiar de către ei înșiși, chiar si printr-o înțelegere cu alte părți; d) preocuparea atingerii acestui scop, chiar si prin alegeri, chiar și prin alte modalități de acțiune. Într-un stat democratic partidele politice funcționează conform legii.

The integral democratization of the contemporary society led to formation of the wide nets of social-political organization, trained in the social and political life of the society. Its activity is regulated by juridical norms, that suppose the realization of several functions. Such an organization is the political party. The fundamental principle that determines the juridical statute of the political party in the democratic state, is the principle of equality in rights: all the political parties have equal rights and obligations. Thanks to this principle, the political parties offer broad possibilities to all the participants at the election ballot, including the independent candidates, to participate at the state governing. As an institution of political socialization, the political party has an effective and efficient contribution at the formation of the democratic, pluralist, participatory political culture through the mediation of rights and obligations provided by the State Constitution. The political parties presents one of the most important political force that is indispensable for the contemporary age and is an organized group of united people through their interest community, political, ideological concepts that action in corresponding to the proposed statute and program, aiming the participation at the representative institutions of sate power, characterized by main features: a) a sustainable organization; b) a local structure providing regular reports with national responsibilities; c) a deliberated will of seizing and realization of the power, even by them self, even by an agreement with other parties; d) the concerning of achieving this goal, even through elections, even through other methods of action. In a democratic state, political parties operate according to the law.
