In the last century, democracy has become extremely popular and win a new legal and political dimension – that of a value. Starting from being a form of social organization, democracy has become an ideal which any society of modern times tends to achieve. Namely democratic values are those that contribute to build the rule of law, without couldn`t be achieve a balance between those who govern and those who are governed and which ensure the respect for those rights that every human being possesses by nature. Democracy also requires a guarantee that there exists a political pluralism, which is expressed by citizens' ability to choose from several political parties, that there exists a separation of powers, and "the vote of the citizen" is the only one that can decide the country's governance. Democratic values, they are the ideal of our society today. |
