The article presents the results of studies of direct sowing of winter wheat and winter barley after corn for grain on chernozem of the Balti steppe of the Republic of Moldova. The productivity of winter wheat over the years of research ranged from 3.62 t / ha to 4.72 t / ha. In the control without fertilizers, yields according to years of research ranged from 1.72 t / ha to 2.02 t / ha. The productivity of winter barley over the years of research varied from 3.80 t / ha to 6.11 t / ha. In the control without fertilizers, the yield for the study years was from 1.30 t / ha to 3.40 t / ha and was higher than the winter wheat yield. With direct sowing, increased weediness on winter wheat and winter barley was observed, which implies the need for mandatory use of herbicides to control weeds.
