In this article, I defined the concepts of self-image, which is a real expression of how one sees him-herself, being influenced by how others evaluate this person, and the concept of self – esteem, which refers to the way we evaluate ourselves, how good we consider ourselves, comparing to our own expectations or to the expectations of others. In addition, I outlined the link between self-image and self-esteem, extremely important dimensions for an individual. The first dimension having a descriptive meaning involves how one describes him – herself, the way someone thinks he – she is and the second one, being a evaluative dimension shows how satisfied we are by our own self-image or how love ourselves.
