Rezumat

The question of Bessarabia becomes an important one after the end of the Crimean War. At the initiative of Austrian Foreign Minister, Buol, Russia had to give the southern Bessarabia to the Moldovan Principality. The Russian Empire wanted to keep the village of Bolgrad, the administrative center of the Bulgarian colonies in Bessarabia. The only one who supported this initiative was France. Instead, Britain and Austria did not want to grant any concession to the Petersburg. The diplomatic correspondence of the Austrian ambassador to Paris, Hűbner and Ottenfels shows that Count Walewski and Emperor Napoleon III supported the point of view of Russia.
