Rezumat

„As the world’s populations grow there is an increasing demand on our limited natural resources. At the same time these resources are being threatened by climate change and changing weather patterns. In many countries, a wide range of industries that use water, for example, are under constant threat of water restrictions or increased supply costs impacting their demand for water. The spa industry is no different; it must take on the social responsibility of efficient resources use and be recognized as environmentally responsible. Environmental impacts from the resources used in health and wellness spa facilities can be grouped into three components of the environment: where these resources were taken from; the spa infrastructure; where the wastewater or other residues are returned to the environment. From a human health perspective, it is a reasonable precautionary approach to ensure that the quality of resources supplied for use in spas should meet some standards from a pathogen perspective. From a physical/chemical hazard perspective, different standards should also be met. Moldova has various Spas resources. Favorable climate, mineral and thermal waters, mud - all these can be used in various Spa procedures. Resorts development and modernization according to international standards would bring significant advantages to our Spa and Wellness Tourism.”
