This paper continues our didactical research and practice on proverbs and sayings and presents additional picture-based activities, which can help incorporate them interactively in the lessons1. Being part of a linguistic culture, proverbs and sayings reveal people’s intelligence, their experience and ways of thinking, their similarities and differences relative to the others, as well as their uniqueness in the world. Therefore, proverbs and sayings improve our cross-cultural knowledge, help distinguish national peculiarities, better understand people’s worldview and use language successfully. Incorporating proverbs and sayings through illustrations and fun activities in the EFL classroom enhances language learning, proves the effectiveness of the interactive strategies applied during the lesson, highlights their great educational value and promotes authentic material use in TEFL and language diversity. |
