Rezumat

The risk of developing tuberculosis significantly increases by sharing the household with a person suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis. Even in the absence of a direct contact with the source of infection, the environment and household represents a major risk for disease development. Mycobacterial re-infection and infection of healthy people can be prevented by organizing optimal management of household conditions and permanent dwelling sanitation.
