The monocyte infl ammatory protein-1α (MIP-1α) in urine from 93 children with primary glomerulonephritis (GN) in the different clinical evolutional stages of the disease was studied. In children with various forms of acute phases of GN the signifi cantly increased levels of urinary MIP-1α was registered. During acute phase of clinical manifestations of the steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SNSS) urinary levels MIP-1 α exceeded 2.6 times the values of this parameter registered in the group of patients with steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome(SNSR) form. In acute phases of nephrotic form of chronic GN the concentration of the MIP-1α in urine exceeded 4.9 times the level of this index compared with the group of children with SNSS and 1.8 times compared to the group with SNSR. During remission signifi cantly decreases of the level of MIP-1α in all patient groups, compared to the acute phases was registered. Urine MIP-1α determination can be used as a non-invasive method for predicting disease activity and monitoring of the evolution of different forms of GN and for the development of differentiated therapeutic strategies in these patients. |
