The concept of emotional intelligence is typically attributed to psychology, however, in recent decades this concept has expanded its sphere of influence, affecting not just how people perceive themselvese, interact with otherss, but also in managing business.
This paper highlights some distinct features of emotional intelligence, but emphasizes more the impact it has on leadership.
The study conducted by Daniel Goleman, published in Harvard Business Review (1998), has demonstrated a close link between the skills of managing emotions and the concept of leadership. An effective leader is able to manage his own emotions and the emotions of others. A true leader can inspire, stimulate creativity and motivate his employees. |
