The dynamics of growth in height downy oak (Quercus pubescens Wild.) descendants of different geographic origin, that grown in Baiuss area, was investigated. It has been demonstrated that for the progeny of local origin was characteristic the highest parameters of growth. As a roolerole, the rapidity of descendants growth is directlydirectly proportional to the distance between the place of descents and predecessors growth. Therefore for the initiation of new oak forests is desirable to use precursors growing as close as possible to the place of new forest. This will minimize the cost to care for seedlings and reduce the risk of their death due to competition with weeds.
