Constantin Negruzzi is a writer with extensive interests, the foreground of which is fiction, but with the merits and qualities of the play writer, poet and translator he illustrates through his entire activity the evolution and destiny of forty-fighter’s literature, marked by numerous romantic influences as the social convulsions of the time.
Negruzzi remains in our literature, especially through his short story "Alexander Lapusneanul" which is the most true characterization of his literary activity placing him as
the author and creator of the modern Romanian novel. In the "Black on White Letters from a Friend," consisting of 32 letters, C. Negruzzi inaugurates a new genre in Romanian literature, the epistolary. In most of them, "letters" are
short essays graceful models of intellectual humor, elegant co-series of letters addressed to Ghica and odobesc digression of Pseudokynegetikos and with his "Alexandru Lapusneanul"
