Endoscopic sinus surgery in children
Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery has become the procedure of choice for the surgical
treatment of chronic sinusitis in adults and currently in children too. Four-hundred-and-twenty pediatric patients from 3 to 15 years of age refractory to medical therapy were treated with Endoscopic Sinus Surgery for chronic and recurrent sinusitis. The standard technique for this procedure was used in 84 patients, the traditional minimally invasive approach was used in 131 children and our approach which is essentially different from the traditional one was used in 205 patients. High response rates were found in 205 patients who underwent our minimally invasive technique (not the traditional one). |
