The article’s thesis is that the totality of cultural expectations show a reverse continuity of the semiotic interpretation, by predicting, judging and assessing the quality of a sign not by its referent but starting from the norms imposed by a convention. The convention, together with the artifice of codified expectations,
presents itself as a warrant needed to establish if a thing or a sign is valid or not. |
