Rezumat

According to statistical data for 2020 in the Republic of Moldova there are 57.2 thousand entities in the SME sector, representing about 98.6% of the total entities. With a trained staff of 316.8 thousand employees, representing 60% of the total and with 150112 million lei sales, which is 40% of the total sales for all entities. At the same time, the contribution of the SME sector to the formation of GDP is about 50%, being constantly growing for the last years. The data presented strongly emphasize the role and importance of the SME sector in the development of any modern economic system, without which sustainable growth becomes an unattainable goal. The development of small enterprises must be seen as a strong economic and social measure against poverty / unemployment, which ultimately leads to a decrease in emigration - currently the priority issue for the Republic of Moldova. Developed countries have long recognized the colossal role of small businesses in their economies and provide sophisticated support for them. The objectives of support here are to find an optimal balance between the interests of society, business and the state. State support is a decisive factor in the development of entrepreneurship in developed countries. The latter use various methods and forms of administrative, legal and economic support. All these measures require an urgent realization and within the domestic economic system, otherwise, the proposed economic, social and political objectives become unachievable.
