Every year, innovative technologies are increasingly introduced into the activities of the National Police of Ukraine. Digital forensics, which modern information technologies have brought to a new stage of development, is no exception. The article examines the field of forensics - digital forensics, which is an applied science of solving crimes related to computer information, researching digital evidence, methods of finding, obtaining and securing such evidence. It is shown that digital forensics, in particular, refers to the process of collecting, obtaining, storing, analyzing and presenting electronic evidence (also known as digital evidence), for the purpose of obtaining investigative information and investigating and prosecuting various types of crimes. Examples of the use of digital forensics during the period of the full-scale invasion of Russia are given. Considered when digital tools contributed to the inevitability of punishment, such as the events in the city of Bucha (Kyiv Oblast) in 2022. But in order for Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to really be able to use the full range of opportunities provided by modern technologies, it is necessary to complete the process of integration of domestic law enforcement structures into the European space as soon as possible. |
