The article concerns the ambient environment of the creative workshop of artist Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, which is a source of constant inspiration in her creation. For Valentina RusuCiobanu, the workshop serves as a refuge from the daily world strongly ideologized during the Soviet period. The plastic artist resorts to the most „mundane” objects, some with sentimental value, which she depicts countless times in her paintings – materials and work tools; pieces of furniture (armchair, table with carved legs, small table); tableware (pots, clay cups, porcelain cups); pets (Tofan motan) etc. (The kitten and the fish; A jilț with Tofan; Tofan and the soda; Black pot and teapot; Table and pot, etc.). The objects appear in the paintings of V. Rusu Ciobanu in a variety of shapes and colors, the artist transfiguring them and presenting them when stylized, generalized, expressionist (Teapot and lemon on a blue background; Teapot on the red chair, etc.). The objects in the workshop reveal the interests and concerns of the artist, and the author’s close relationship with them, denotes the nostalgic and meditative nature of the painter. Valentina RusuCiobanu through his creation immortalized the universe of „everyday” objects from his workshop, valorizing them and continuing their life in his paintings.
