<description xml:lang='en' descriptionType='Abstract'>The article  Frumoasa Monastery: Time and 
Memory was developed in the manner of oral/

verbal history, an alternative to the historical texts. 
Searching archives, the documents sealed up by 
centuries, records and history manuals, reports are 
opposed to the depositions of some eyewitnesses of 
time. The memory of people as a truthful document 
of history has been used as basis for reconstructing 
the history of Frumoasa Monastery from Călăraşi 
district, Republic of Moldova. Oral History Interviews 
are kept in memory, while memory is a subjective 
tool for recording the past, always shaped by present 
and by the individual psychic. Narrated history can 
reveal the manner in which the values and actions 
from past, including the past itself, shapes the values 
and actions from present. In other words, the memory 
assures our continuity in time.   </description>
