Folk tales (FT) are a very important part of a person’s culture and history. Over the centuries, passing from generation to generation, they acquired unique linguistic characteristics, as well as bright stylistic shades reflecting national specifics, which became a reflection of popular ideas about certain phenomena of life, thoughts, judgments and ideals. British FT have unique features of national identity, are socially conditioned in their own way, ethnically oriented, they reflect the living conditions, beliefs and self-consciousness of native speakers. At the same time, it should be noted that there are few scientific works devoted to the linguistics of the British FT. The relevance of this research is determined by the need to identify the main features of the worldview presented in concepts actualized in texts of such a specific genre as a folk tale; to consider the linguistic world picture of the British FT as a medium of self-realization and a product of the speech-thinking activity of the linguistic personality of the time when the genre of folk tales was productive, and folk tale texts were in the period of formation and to trace in dynamics the history of the linguistic world, peculiarly reflected in a fairy tale, one of the most significant genres for humanity. |
