Rezumat

The concept of circularity refers to the transformation of a linear economy, based on the extraction, production, and disposal of waste, into a circular system where resources are efficiently reused, repurposed, and recycled. This approach promotes the reduction of dependence on limited natural resources and minimizes the impact on the environment. The article examines various aspects of circularity in the economy, including the three fundamental principles: reduction, reuse, and recycling. A crucial aspect in measuring and evaluating the level of circularity in an economy is the use of circularity indicators. These indicators provide relevant data and information about the economic, social, and environmental performance of a circular system. The article discusses various types of circularity indicators, such as resource efficiency indicators, recycling indicators, reuse indicators, and sustainability indicators. By understanding and implementing the concept of circularity in the economy, society can achieve sustainable economic growth and a significant reduction in environmental impact. In conclusion, the article highlights the importance of circularity in the economy and the vital role that circularity indicators play in evaluating and promoting a sustainable economic model. Implementing circular principles and circularity indicators represents a promising path to building a more sustainable and resilient future from an economic and ecological perspective. This paper is written within the state project 20.80009.0807.22. Developing the mechanism for the circular economy creation in the RM.
