Rezumat

Lipomas are benign tumors consisting of mature fat cells which may occur in any organ, affecting men and women equally. Duodenal lipomas are a rare benign tumor accounting for 4% of gastrointestinal lipomas. The most duodenal lipomas are asymptomatic with diagnoses made incidentally via routine endoscopy or GI surgery. Symptomatic duodenal lipomas that present with signs of obstruction or bleeding require procedural intervention. There is currently no standard of care for duodenal lipomas. Although endoscopic options are available, management may require surgery because of the size or location.
