Diaspora is one of the newest and most discussed topics in the countries of origin and during the electoral period especially. It represents a very complex subject, the research process allows for a multitude of approaches and paradigms (structuralfunctional aspects that analyze diaspora as more or less distinctive institution, social-economic aspects that focuse on the diaspora-development relationship, cultural aspectsthat emerge in emphasizes the spiritual and nostalgic aspects of emigrants), well-defined roles of facilitator/mediator between countries of origin and destination that “dispute” or not the migration potential or human capital, etc. From a political perspective, the Moldovan diaspora is a hope for the real and sustainable democratization process of Moldova.
