The article is devoted to the study of the regulatory framework in the field of the Diaspora at the international level and within the framework of individual states. The authors make the conclusion that the problem of the Diaspora, its relationship with both the states of origin and the host states, is not adequately reflected in the international and national regulatory framework. Some countries protects the rights of compatriots at the constitutional level. Other countries adopted laws regulating relations with compatriots abroad. The Republic of Moldova has the developed legislative framework in the field of Diaspora, which shows that the Moldovan authorities are interested in building mutually beneficial cooperation with the Moldovan Diaspora.
