The transformational process of our society has shown that it is impossible to build a new socio-political system in a short period of time and often the success of the proposed transformations depends on social activism aimed at accepting and achieving change, both macro and micro. We would like to mention that social activism or participatory activity is a perpetual process and continues even when certain social transformations have already been achieved. The aim of our paper is to study the forms of manifestation of civic activism, as well as the factors that influence the process of social cohesion. As empirical material we used the results of qualitative and quantitative sociological research conducted within the institutional project “Formation and consolidation of social cohesion in the Republic of Moldova in the context of rapprochement with the European Union”.
