Rezumat

Today, it is very natural for various Turkish ethnic groups residing in Anatolia, the Caucasus region and Central Asia to be Muslims. However, there is no common view on the issue of how the Turks accepted Islam. There are various hypotheses related to the subject. For ease of introduction, we will call the hypotheses "Similarity Hypothesis", "Inference/Sword Hypothesis", "Multifactorial Natural Process Hypothesis". According to the Similarity Hypothesis, the acceptance of Islam by Turkish ethnic groups is based on their similarity with the Tengrism belief. The monotest of Tengri belief and the absence of a god in human form facilitated the acceptance of Islam. According to the Interest/Sword Hypothesis, Turkish ethnic groups accepted Islam in line with material interests and with the force of the sword. According to the defenders of the Multifactorial Natural Process Hypothesis, since the Turks' acceptance of Islam has spread over centuries, it is a natural historical process as well as various social, cultural, political, artistic and so on. based on reasons. In this study, the relevant hypotheses will be reviewed, their strengths and weaknesses will be clarified and they will be submitted for evaluation.
