In this study, the life of Adnan Ötüken, who was sent to Germany to receive librarianship training during the founding period of the Republic of Turkey, and who carried modern librarianship practices and techniques to the libraries in his country after he returned, and his services to the librarianship profession are discussed. Adnan Ötüken, beyond being the founder of the Turkish National Library, is a professional who should not be forgotten with his librarianship courses, being the founder of the first professional association and journal, and his practical and academic studies in the field of librarianship. In the study, in which the documentary scanning method was used, the sources related to the subject were examined and a comprehensive literature search was made. If a small awareness of Adnan Ötüken can be raised through this declaration, the study will have reached its final goal.
