Rezumat

This paper consists of the data and final reports of the project study titled [Artistic Transformation] in the 2nd Term of TUBITAK 2209-A - University Students Research Support Program 2020. In our research, it is aimed to reinforce the importance of recycling and to reduce the stress and anxiety levels of primary school students during the pandemic process that affects the whole world by performing two and three dimensional artistic works with waste materials found at home during the lockdown periods. For this reason, our research is an interdisciplinary study covering the fields of Science, Psychology and Art. The data of this study, which used an action research design, one of the qualitative research methods, were obtained through a semi-structured interview form applied to the students. The study group consisted of a total of 40 students, 19 girls and 21 boys, who attended the 4th grade at Bartın American Culture College in the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. The data obtained were subjected to content analysis and interpreted descriptively. In the action plan implemented in line with the purpose of the research, two and three dimensional artistic works were realized using waste materials such as paper, plastic, packaging, packages, etc. found in every home. Based on the findings obtained, it is possible to say that the students both became aware of the issue of recycling and contributed to a positive change in their recycling habits, as well as a decrease in their stress and anxiety levels by making artistic production in a fun way with the wastes they previously saw as garbage.
