Rezumat

Internships have long been seen as an important stepping stone for young people entering the job market, as they provide hands-on experience and the opportunity to build a professional network. However, recent research suggests that the economic impact of internships may be more complex, with some studies finding that interns are more likely to be unemployed or underemployed after graduation, while others find a positive relationship between internships and employment outcomes. Factors that may influence the economic impact of internships include the quality and structure of the internships, the availability of paid versus unpaid opportunities, and the state of the overall job market. Despite the mixed evidence on the economic impact of internships, they can still be a valuable tool for career development, and by seeking out high-quality opportunities and taking an active approach to their own career development, young people can increase their chances of finding fulfilling and rewarding employment after graduation.
