Rezumat

Overall, dialogic memoirs are the result of collaboration between (generically named) a master and a witness, the latter being a privileged listener of the confession, having (or not) the quality of a disciple or someone trying to emulate the master. The master is usually a master of thought, identified in a great political and historical figure (such as King Michael I of Romania in the book Conversations with Michael I of Romania) or in an exemplary, who is (or not) a master of thought in the literary, scientific, social, political, etc. field. which he embodies (here, in the chronological order of the appearance of their volumes of dialogued memoirs, we have Alexandru Paleologu, Eugeniu Coșeriu, Paul Cornea, Viorel Barbu). The witness of the public confession is always a personality (literary, scientific or paid), already consecrated or in the making at the time of recording the dialogued memoirs (Stelian Tănase, Nicolae Saramandu, Johannes Kabatek, Adolfo Murguía, Daniel Cristea-Enache, Eugen Munteanu). The role played by the witness is, not infrequently, that of a guide who directs the unfolding of the life storytelling, a fact requiring a special talent for stimulating the memory through questions with a pronounced maieutic character.
