| Rezumat | ||||||
In this study we intend to analyze from a theological-ethnological point of view several minor feasts dedicated to the Mother of God, feasts which are rather popular in the Orthodox spirituality. The Romanian nation has always felt the need to garment the Christian truths in religious folklore. The anonymity of the carols, resembling that of the popular ballad, is a testimony of the involvement of Christianism in the life of the people as a fundamental factor. In the Romanian popular tradition, the emphasis falls more on the fact that Mary is the Mother of God than on that she is an Eternal Virgin. And this happens because here we find the filial need of the Christian to be protected by the one who is our Lady, “Sanctified Temple”, “Spiritual Paradise”. |
