Rezumat | ||||||
The present paper represents a theoretical-methodological foray into identifying the possi-bilities of digital transformation of SMEs in the EU. For SMEs, in a post-pandemic context, digitization was a lever to ensure economic performance, an opportunity to optimize costs, to penetrate new markets, to survive in an extremely difficult context. Thus, we can note that with the intensification of competition, SMEs are obliged to identify competitive advantages that will make them much more attractive and compe-titive on the market. The multiple challenges brought by the pandemic have created major difficulties in the supply of raw materials and materials, in selling its products/services, but also in penetrating new markets. In this context, digitization becomes a pressing necessity for EU SMEs that want to stay in the market. The research methodology focused on the use of multiple research methods such as: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, abduction, qualitative analysis. Finally, we believe that the EU objectives regarding the digital transformation of SMEs will save the small and medium-sized enterprise sector, help them become competitive, viable and much more flexible in the market. The implementation of information technologies, platforms and programs in business will help SMEs to optimize costs, increase turnover and economic performance, but also to access new markets. |
