The article discusses one of the urgent problems of improving the training of specialists in physical culture and sports in the context of the digital transformation of the industry. The main directions of digital transformation in the field of physical culture and sports have been analyzed, which include: training, advanced training, professional retraining of specialists in the field of physical culture and sports; sports training; organization and holding of sports competitions; health improving physical culture and fitness; diagnostics of the functional systems of the body; psychodiagnostics in sports; monitoring the physical condition and health of those involved in physical culture and sports and finally the digital transformation of the industry management system, including sports and health organizations. The concept of digital transformation in physical education, the place and significance of digital educational resources in the organization of the educational process is revealed. It is concluded that the digital transformation of physical education is a necessary, but not sufficient condition for increasing the effectiveness of educational activities and the quality of education in general.
