Rezumat

This paper aims at determiningthe level of motorability development in primary school students by using the mandatory and alternative evaluation tools. In this regard, an ascertaining study was conducted with a number of 279 students (140 girls and 139 boys)of primary grades, throughout the school year 2016-2017. In order to determinethe development of the motor ability in the primary school students, 7 evaluation tools (tests) included in the Romanian National School System of Evaluation were selected. Abilities to be evaluated: abdominal strength, back strength, static balance (Flamingo test), flexibility / complex mobility of the torso and lower limbs muscles, strength of upper limbs (arms), general coordination and balance (Mator in test) and segmental coordination (hopscotch). The results of the evaluation of motor ability development in the primary school students highlight the following matters: differences between girls and boys regarding the strength of the abdominal and back muscles; decrease of the number of failures in the static balance test;increase of the upper limbs (arms) strength;improvement of the flexibility/ complex mobility, general coordination and balance when jumping with a 360° turn to the right (88% up to full turn in the case of the 4th grade) and with a 360° turn to the left (75% - the 4th grade); increase of the coordinative abilityperformance(hopscotch). The use of the mandatory and alternativeevaluation tools, by analyzing and comparing the results with the scales, the evaluation criteria and theperformance descriptors, helped to determine the level of motor ability development in the investigated students of primary school.
