Background. Drug interactions are a major cause of adverse reactions in polymedical therapies. The pharmacist is the basic specialist in the field of medicinal products, and cooperation between the pharmacist and the patient can prevent possible errors of medication during the treatment. Objective of the study. Study and evaluation of the role of the pharmacist in the management of drug interactions encountered in the community pharmacy. Material and Methods. Descriptive-selective research methods and qualitative and quantitative approaches will be used to achieve the proposed goal. Prescriptions will be collected from community pharmacies. The interest for the study will be prescriptions that include more than one drug to assess potential drug-drug interactions. Other data will be obtained by questioning pharmacists. Results. Nowadays, the interaction between medicines is of increasing interest because the likelihood of concomitant administration of several medicinal substances is significantly increased. According to the report of the Medical Institute of America on the prevention of drug interactions, more than 500,000 adverse reactions occur in the USA every year because of the incorrect combination of drugs. Approximately 7% of hospitalizations are due to drug interactions, and the main role in improving these results is played directly by the pharmacist, especially in the community pharmacy. Conclusions. The analysis demonstrated that pharmacists should take responsibility for monitoring drug interactions and informing the doctor and the patient about potential problems.

Introducere. Interacțiunile medicamentoase reprezintă o cauză majoră de apariție a reacțiilor adverse în cadrul terapiilor polimedicamentoase. Farmacistul reprezintă specialistul de bază în domeniul medicamentului, iar cooperarea între farmacist și pacient poate preveni eventualele erori de medicație pe durata tratamentului. Scopul lucrării. Studierea și evaluarea rolului farmacistului în managementul interacțiunilor medicamentoase întâlnite în farmacia comunitară. Material și Metode. Pentru atingerea scopului propus vor fi utilizate metode de cercetare descriptiv-selective și abordări calitative și cantitative. Se vor colecta rețete din farmaciile comunitare. Interes pentru studiu vor prezenta prescripțiile care includ mai mult de un medicament pentru a fi evaluate potențialele interacțiuni medicament-medicament. Alte date se vor obține prin chestionarea farmaciștilor. Rezultate. În prezent, interacțiunea dintre medicamente prezintă un interes tot mai frecvent deoarece, probabilitatea administrării concomitente a mai multor substanțe medicamentoase este semnificativ crescută. Conform raportului Institutului Medical al Americii privind prevenirea interacțiunilor medicamentoase, peste 500.000 de reacții adverse apar în SUA în fiecare an, ca urmare a combinației incorecte dintre medicamente. Aproximativ 7% din spitalizări se datorează interacțiunilor medicamentoase, iar rolul principal în îmbunătățirea acestor rezultate îl are nemijlocit farmacistul, în special în farmacia comunitară. Concluzii. Analiza a demonstrat că farmaciștii trebuie să își asume responsabilitatea pentru monitorizarea interacțiunilor medicamentoase și pentru a informa medicul și pacientul cu privire la potențialele probleme.
