Purpose: The paper presents the blood transfusion unit activity, in Oradea Municipal Clinical Hospital, during the period January – June 2013, insisting on transfusion therapy in emergency situations, through corroboration of clinical and laboratory data, and effectiveness of transfusion therapy. Material and Methods: Data are presented in accordance with quality system documents belonging to the blood transfusion unit, based on them, being supported the haemovigilance transfusion requirements; the information as basis for reporting, includes monthly records (worksheet) of the patients (name, surname, gender, age, diagnosis, type of transfusion: emergency / scheduled, the clinician who indicated the therapy, blood product type and number of units transfused, pre and post-transfuzion paraclinical parameters. Results: according to the reports were set up tables and charts for established clinical, laboratory and transfusion criteria, and used to configure several references therapeutic transfusion in emergency situation. Conclusion: having as reference the „Guidelines for the preparation, use and quality assurance of blood components” edited by CE / EDQM, can be noted that administered blood products respect the quality and safety standards, with therapeutic effectiveness of transfusion in emergency situations. |
