Rezumat

The Late Paleolithic site of Anetivka II allows us to give a representation on the wide and intensive use of mineral resources. In the settlement, not only flint, which was the main raw material for the manufacture of tools, was used, but also various stones of other rocks and mineral clays were found as artifacts and manuports during the study of the cultural layer of the settlement. The quartz rocks are some of the most abundant findings among non-flint artifacts of Anetivka II. The quartz on the settlement is represented by rock crystal, smoky quartz (rauchtopaz), morion, rose quartz, citrine, vein quartz, fine-grained and coarse-grained. Rounded small pieces are also found, obviously of alluvial origin. Judging by the quantity and variety of quartz raw material, it was very attractive by their qualities for the ancient settlers of Anetivka II. The quartz on the settlement is represented by both large and small-format raw material, in the form of both utilized (artifacts) and simply brought to the settlement (manuports) stones. The quartz findings of the settlement Anetivka II are an additional source for the possible reconstruction of the vital activity of primitive bison hunters (including production processes, as well as aesthetic and ritual life moments of the late Paleolithic era peoples). The represented quartz rocks in the settlement include of manuport mineral raw materials, tools, stones for rubbing paint, beads and mobile art objects made (sculpture) of quartz, tools for making flint products (strikers, retouchers), and multiple fragments of various types of quartz. In addition, during the clearing of the culture layer at the production area, was observed a compact consolidation of the layer with a crumb of coarse-grained matte quartz, i.e. is the loam was mixed with a crumb of quartz. Geologist Victor F. Petrun, who studied quartz from the cultural layer of the settlement, identified several sources of origin of such raw materials, far from Anetivka II, but also close to it.
